Born in Knoxville, Tennessee and raised in Silicon Valley, Grace Su is an actress working between Los Angeles and New York.
Initially following in her father’s footsteps of Computer Science, Su altered her career path by studying Film and Digital Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Working on many student films, she got to wear several hats and act in classmates’ projects. She also dabbled in theater as a stagehand for UCSC’s Rainbow Theater and African American Theater Arts Troupe. While still in school, Su was invited to participate in Visual Communications’ Armed With a Camera Fellowship. Through this program, she directed and edited a 5-minute documentary featuring Far East Movement called FUTURE ROCK STARS OF AMERICA.
Upon graduation, Su moved to LA where she was extremely involved with the Asian American arts community as a blogger. She was known by many of her peers as “Peachies” during this time. She then jumped around from being a PA to learning the ropes of producing, location management, and music supervision in the independent film world. She also coined and curated the Cinema Musica program for the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival for six years.
While working a 9-to-5 job as a TV commercial editor, Su was reminded of her childhood dream of acting. She began training as an actor and eventually uprooted her life in LA to deepen her craft at Terry Knickerbocker Studio in NY.
On television, she has appeared on Frasier, American Sports Story, Billions, Kidding, Superior Donuts, and Speechless. She has also starred in the award-winning independent films STAYCATION and HIDE BEHIND.
